Telstra says it now has more than 2.1 million customers on its 4G network, leaving rival telecommunication providers in its wake.

iiNet has revealed today it will soon offer customers a range of 4G plans, alongside the announcement that it now offers two of Samsung’s newest smartphones.

Both Telstra and Optus reported healthy speeds on their next-generation 4G/LTE networks on New Years Eve, in arguably one of the first major tests for the high-speed networks.

Galaxy SIII 4G coming to Australia Sept. 20

Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) has confirmed it will begin providing customers with SMS alerts prior to an emergency situation, beginning at the end of next year.

In the early hours of this morning, Optus and Telstra confirmed that they will soon offer the popular Samsung Galaxy SIII on both their 4G networks across Australia.

From tomorrow, September 1, new Australian telecommunication protections will come into force, aimed at providing further protection to consumers and dealing with many of the issues between customers and telecommunications providers that have risen over the past few years.
