As tomorrow dawns, excitement has begun to peak around an announcement being made by search giant Google surrounding its Android mobile operating system, with the almost certain aarrival of a ‘Google Phone’. Telstra has just announced that it has begun testing of the new HSPA+ Dual Carrier technology outside of vendor labs, and says it is reaching an average of 36Mbps in download speeds across its closed test network. High Speed Packet Access (HSPA+) will build upon the current speeds on Telstra’s NextG network, with the company saying it hopes to ‘almost double speeds’ when the first HSPA+ phones hit the network mid-to-late next year.
