Internode has announced a new program that’ll see the company be able to switch customers from Telstra’s BigPond service to Internode with “minimal disruption”.

In a statement yesterday the company said that it hopes the new program, dubbed the “Single Service Transfer process” will allow potential Internode customers to more seriously consider making the switch from BigPond, with the major obstacle of disruption now greatly reduced.

“It’s great for broadband customers because it gives them an unimpeded right to vote with their feet if they’re not happy with a current provider,” Internode product manager Jim Kellett said in a statement yesterday.

“Previously some customers moving from BigPond to Internode faced either a two-week interruption of their broadband service or a cumbersome and expensive two-stage migration process.”
