Optus Business and Alphawest have partnered up to provide a new on-premise cloud service based on Cisco’s Intelligent Automation for the cloud platform.

The new service that was announced yesterday will allow businesses to deliver IT as a service and make it easier to deploy and manage IT products and services across their organisation. Dubbed “your IT as a service”, the program features a centralised catalogue of virtualised IT products and services which includes servers, storage, networking and security applications available from a single web portal.

Ian Smith, Alphawest CEO, said he’s excited about the opportunities this service provides, saying it “can help transform the way IT departments manage their IT and service their internal clients. It enables IT managers to have a single view of technology requirements across their organisation, helping to free up valuable IT resources to focus on consulting to the business.”

Available from May, the “Your IT as a Service” will be implemented through Alphwest’s Data Centre Practice and will be available to both Optus Business and Alphawest customers. It will be offered in three tiers depending on the size of the organisation wishing to make a purchase.

Optus Business and Alphawest will demonstrate ‘Your IT as a Service’ for the first time at Cisco Live 2012, held in Melbourne until 23rd March.
