Optus appoints Paitaridis as new Business MD

Optus today has announced its new Managing Director of Optus Business, John Paitaridis. He will be leading the Optus enterprise, corporate and government business and is responsible for all aspects of the division’s sales, marketing, products, operations and service delivery including the wholly-owned subsidiary Alphawest and its Uecomm business.

Mr Paitaridis is an accomplished senior executive with 20 years’ experience behind him in the telecommunications and IT sectors. Optus’ CEO Paul O’Sullivan is excited about the new appointment, saying “we are delighted to welcome John to the Optus executive leadership team. He embodies our challenger spirit and his strong track record in sales and revenue growth will ensure that Optus gains further momentum as a strategic ICT partner to enterprise and government customers.”

The announcement today is part of a succession of several senior executives being accepted into the Optus Business team since last year as the division strives to market its position with a different perspective of offerings and more of a focus on customer the customer experience.

These new appointments to the business division include Paul Mullins as the Government Sales Director, Sam Kennedy as the General Manager of Queensland and the Northern Territory and the promotion of former Optus SMB Marketing Director Phil Offer as the Director of Mobility and Convergence.

Paitaridis joins the Optus team from Telstra, where he held the position of the Executive Director, Network Products and Services in the enterprise and government space. He has spent almost a decade working in the international markets. This includes five years as the APAC regional director and three years as head of sales and marketing in Europe. He aims to “up the ante in the enterprise market by striving to deliver the most compelling ICT solutions and become the service provider of choice for corporate and government customers.”
