Batman: Arkham City

The success of Batman: Arkham Asylum, it was obvious that there would be a sequel. In the 3rd Quarter (US Fall), Batman: Arkham City will be unleashed.

With an idea stolen from John Carpenter, a part of Gotham has now become a walled in maximum security gaol for for all of Gotham’s thugs, lunatics and a certain lovable psychopathic clown.

Arkham City in my opinion captures the mythos of Batman perfectly. While he is quite happy to solve problems by punching people in the face, he is also the greatest detective. Some of the most interesting elements I saw in gameplay videos was “Detective Mode” where Batman looks for clues and hints from the environment.

Also available is a wide array of gadgets, so while you can punch someone in the face, you can be more Batman-y and hit people with gas, grapple and many other moves associated with the Dark Night.

What excites me most is the production. Story by Paul Dini (creator of the animated Batman series, some of the best stories ever). And voicing the Clown Prince of Crime: MARK HAMILL! And KEVIN CONROY as Batman. As a Batman The Animated Series fan, this is like great news indeed.
