Report: iTunes 9 to feature Blu-ray, better app organisation

According to sources BoyGenius says that the next iteration of iTunes is set to feature all the above, as well as better integration with social networks.Though at this stage the information known is really very vague (and we should point out likely to be a rumour), BoyGenius says they received a tip detailing some of the new features set to appear in iTunes 9.

One of the new additions to iTunes is said to include Blu-ray support which lines up nicely with a recent Apple Insider report about Apple integrating Blu-ray into their new iMac line-up. Something that wasn’t so clearly described was some kind of Twitter/Facebook/Last.fm integration.

Better application organisation is also on the way, with a video (embedded below) showing a much better interface for dealing with the layout of apps.

It’s likely that the social networking integration mentioned above will broadcast what song you’re currently listening to etc.
